Shabu Shabu ・・・Blog of a Hotel in Uehommachi

Posted:2019/04/28

Greetings from Hotel International House Osaka. This is Mathew with another suggestion on different foods to try out while visiting Japan or Osaka. Today’s suggestion is another all-you-can-eat restaurant with delicious meat as the main focus called shabu shabu.

Shabu shabu is like yakiniku in the sense of it being delicious meat, but shabu shabu is more than just grilling meat on top of a grill. Not only is it beef as its selection, but you can also choose pork and chicken as some of the meat as one of your options. The meat is also thinly sliced, and melts in your mouth with every bite that you take. Shabu shabu is also not grilled. It is in the nabe family because there is a hot pot in the center of the table that cooks your meat, and vegetables. After the meat is done cooking, depending on the type of broth that you used to cook the meat/vegetables, you can either eat it as is, or dip it in vinegar or other sauces that come with your meal.

However, the best part about most all-you-can-eat shabu shabu is that shabu shabu is not the only thing you can eat. They have plenty of other side dishes that you can choose from to help make your meal the best it can possibly be. If you need a break from meat, just order some sushi. If you want to eat something fried, they have things like karage or french-fries. It feels almost like an unlimited amount of options, and I find myself unable to try everything the menu has to offer because there is just too much to eat that I can’t possibly fill my stomach with that much food.

Shabu shabu is an excellent choice if you are looking for a meal that will fill your stomach to its limits with delicious, endless food. One of the nearest restaurants to our hotel is located in HiHiTown called Shabu-Shabu Japanese Restaurant Kizoji Uehommachi Store, which is only a 7 minute walk and is near the Kintetsu Train Station.
